07 Bryan - Technology And Cute Stuff

Welcome to the sucky blog of technology and random cute things! Try to enjoy your 3-star stay..

Hello!~ My name is Bryan. My favourite subject is either Music, or Art... I really don't at all like sports but my favourite one out of all is probably sledding because it feels weird and it's fun. My favourite food would probably be either cake or anything potato related. My favourite game is Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Pokemon X and Y because for some reason it just entertains me and doesn't make me feel bored. My favourite colour is yellow, blue or pink because I like colourful stuff and because pink blue and yellow together look like marshmallows. My favourite word is probably potato because potatoes are weird and are just earth apples, brown lumps of something, or amazing things that live in dirt. I also like Cinnamoroll and Rilakkuma because potato. For my weekly blogs, I am going to be alternating between the 2 subjects every week, and I might do clay tutorials if I have enough time and enough battery for my camera.. Thanks for reading my weird about me because after all I am a weird person. Have a potato day.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S Leaks

posted Jun 10, 2014, 7:52 PM by Unknown user

Recently, rumors and images claim to say that there is another Samsung tablet that's going to come out soon called the Galaxy Tab S. The new tablet features a 8.4 inch model and a 10.1 inch model as well. Samsung is planning on revealing the tablet on June 12 at the Madison Square Garden in New York. The specs include an octa-core Exynos 5420 CPU (why not snapdragon. why.), a 8 megapixel back camera, LTE support, Android KitKat 4.4.2, a fingerprint scanner, and more because I can't write and look at the same time. The design features a peforated design like on the S5 (which looks weird) and comes in so far a gold+black color and a silver+white one. There are going to be kind of notebook covers for the tablet that clip on these weird magnetic holes in the back. The screen will be a AMOLED display, which is a first in Samsung tablets. AMOLED makes colours extremely bright and saturated and it hurts your eyes.

How to Make Samsung Phones Faster

posted May 26, 2014, 7:04 PM by Unknown user

Samsung phones are really fast when it comes to speed, but it could be faster if you mess around with the settings. You can do lots of things to speed it up like disabling animations, or the lock screen. Its simple and easy to do, and can significantly boost your phones speed. You don't have to root for this, so all you have to do is disable some settings. This can also make the battery last longer.

1. Disable S Voice (if you have it)

When you get the phone, there's a double tap home button for S Voice shortcut thing, and because its double tap home button, theres lag when you hit the home button once because its waiting for S Voice input.. If you have no use for S Voice, you can get rid of it by going into S Voice, menu key, settings, and unchecking Open via the home key. Now, when you double tap the home button, S Voice wont pop up and delay a home button press.

2. Disable Animations

By disabling animations, it can speed up our phone because TouchWiz doesnt need to show any fancy animations, and it can just do what its supposed to do. To disable animations, you need to go to Settings, and then hit more. You then need to activate Developer Mode by hitting Build Prop 7 times. Once you did that, enter the developer options and scroll down to Window Animation Scale and select Animation is off. Repeat this for transition animation scale and animator duration scale.

3. Disable the Lockscreen

This is disappointing. I love my lockscreens because theyre pretty. But if youre that desperate for speed, then why not.
To disable your lockscreen, you need to go to settings, and my device. Once youre there, hit Lock Screen and choose none. Now the lock screen is gone but if you need the security for your phone keep the lockscreen on.

And thats pretty much all. Im sorry that my little quotation mark things arent in this post and my writing looks horribly dumb. I recently switched to Windows 8 (which sucks) and the keyboard doesnt like me and makes the quotation marks turn into weird French Es. So in terms of the actual blog itself, thats pretty much it and it should speed up your phone a lot if you are willing to sacrifice a good phone experience for a measly few seconds of your time.

How To Make a Samsung Phone Look like an S5

posted May 19, 2014, 4:59 PM by Unknown user

Today, I'm not going to be doing the usual stuff but I'm going to do tech stuff which is partially related to video games??? You can do this with only Samsung phones running 4.2 Jelly Bean+. The phone I'm using is a Bell Galaxy Note 3 (N900W8) You have to be rooted for some things.

DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible for whatever happens to your device. If you are rooted, you should know what you are doing, but if you aren't sure what to do, I recommend not doing this because you are replacing system files with new ones and it can potentially harm your phone.

Following things will require a root:
Notification Shade
Settings (with download booster)
Boot animation

For the notification shade, you need to be rooted and you need to have a file explorer like ES File Explorer with Superuser access. Go to system/ and find build.prop. When you find it, edit it and scroll down until you find ro.product.name and ro.product.device. There will be a model name there and you will have to change both to SM-N900S. Here's a picture to confirm how it looks like. After that, do a system reboot and you should have something like this.

For the settings, you need to replace SecSettings.apk located inside system/priv-app with a different file. You also need to set the permissions to the following on the bottom. I haven't tried this one out yet though For the original SecSettings.apk, rename it to SecSettings2.apk so that it doesn't get used. The link to the SecSettings is..
here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4bFPA3V4_OobXdDck9abVFRZ0E/edit.
If it isn't named SecSettings.apk, rename it to that. Do a system reboot after. You should also get the download booster mode-thing.

It should look something like this.

For the boot animation, you will need a custom recovery and a root. First of all, download the boot animation here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/to9jkypw8iw1kq3/SGS5_Boot_Animation.zip, Once you get the file, do not extract it. Send it to your phone inside system, and power off your phone. Now, you need to boot into recovery mode by holding Power+Home+VolumeUp at the same time. Once you loaded the phone up, select the zip file and flash it to your phone. Then you can reboot and you are done!

Now for the things that you don't have to root for:
Wallpaper
Lockscreen Animation

For the wallpaper, all you have to do is set these as your wallpaper. This part is so simple your grandma can do it.

Lock Screen                                                                      Home Screen

For the lockscreen, all you have to do is download Galaxy Locker by X-ANDEV from the Google Play store and set it to "Particle unlock" with default wallpaper.. This will work on any Android device.

That's about it I guess, and once again if you don't know what you are doing replacing system files, you shouldn't alter the notification shade, settings, or boot animation.

How to Make Whipped Cream

posted May 4, 2014, 7:12 PM by Unknown user

Why am I so lazy to do something actual. I'm making whipped cream today because everyone just loves to squirt whipped cream into their mouth. Whipped cream is used often to be topped onto berries, put on cakes, and pastries or just squirting a whole can of whipped cream in your mouth. The ingredients are:

  • 1 cup of whipping cream (You can reduce to 1/2 cup)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (reduce to 1/2 teaspoon if cream is reduced)
  • Sugar to taste
After you have all of your ingredients, take your whisk and bowl and chill it in the fridge for 15 minutes or so. If your bowl is not metal, just float it in another bowl of ice-cold water. Once they are very cold, you can start. In your bowl, add the vanilla extract and whipping cream together and mix it thoroughly. Then, add a pinch of your sugar. Start whipping your cream at a normal speed until it becomes slightly more firm. Then, add half of your sugar. Continue beating for a couple more seconds and add the rest. Then, beat it until it forms a icing-like consistency. After that, you can colour it with a drop of food colouring or you can leave as is as you want it to be. This recipe is a really good classic and simple recipe that lots of people use. It tastes pretty good on cakes as well, because I did this on a cotton cheesecake I bought. Some tips are to not overbeat it. If you overbeat it, it will be lumpy and like it'll taste butter. No Minecraft references. Another tip is that you should chill your whipping cream as well and it will be more stable.

Making Chocolate French Macarons

posted Apr 16, 2014, 8:37 PM by Unknown user   [ updated Apr 16, 2014, 8:38 PM ]

I don't know why I'm doing some baking, but macarons are pretty and I made some today so why not do a blog on them. The ingredients you will need are:

Macaron Shells

- 90g of Almond Powder
- 150g of icing sugar
- 15g of cocoa powder
- 2 egg whites
- 10g extra icing sugar

Chocolate ganache

- 100g of chocolate
- 125 ml of fresh cream
- Wee bit of honey
- 15g of butter. Please don't make any Minecraft references about that.

This can be very hard, I've tried this 4 times in the past and failed, my recent attempts worked though!

To make the macaron shells, beat your egg whites on low until it froths up. After it froths up a bit, add in half of the 10g of sugar.
Beat that on medium for another minute or 2 until it comes to this creamy texture. Once it's there, put in the rest of the 10g of icing sugar and beat on high until stiff peaks form. Stiff peaks are when you lift your beater up and it leaves this peak that doesn't fall down. If you flip the bowl over, it won't slip out of the bowl either. Yay. Now that that's done, take a separate bowl and sift in your almond powder. Then, your icing sugar, and then your cocoa powder. Combine this and sift it into the egg white thing. This is the most important step. Do NOT overmix. If you overmix, the macarons will turn out either too puffed up, or too flat. It's important that you get the right consistency. What you want to do is slowly fold in the dry ingredients into the meringue. Then when it is slightly incorporated, kind of scrape it against your bowl for 3 times or so. Once you've done this, lift your spatula up from the batter and if it drips down like a ribbon, you are done, don't mix anymore. Now, transfer this over to a squeeze bottle or a pastry bag. I used a squeeze bottle so it wouldn't drip everywhere. Pipe these onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and make circles. They should be about an inch or so apart because these will stuck to each other. Once you are done, this is another crucial part. Let it sit there until when you touch the macaron shell, nothing comes onto your fingers. This is important because you are sealing off the moisture on the inside and trapping it giving it the feet underneath the macaron. After you did this, put it inside a oven preheated at 150 celsius or 300 fahrenheit for 13 minutes. While these are baking, we can prepare the ganache,

Inside a bowl, heat up the fresh cream and put a bit of honey in there. When it's hot, immediately put your chopped up chocolate in there, This will melt the chocolate. When it's melted, put in the butter. Mix this until the butter completely dissolves;. Put this in the fridge with plastic wrap over it until it is a frosting like consistency.

Once the macarons have finished baking, let them cool off completely. If you take them off immediately, they will stick to the paper and get entirely ruined. After they are cooled completely, take them off and you can start putting the macarons together, First, match up the macarons together with the correct size. This is just so that they'll look more uniform. When you are done matching them up, take your ganache and pipe it onto one half of the macaron and sandwich the other one on top. Now you are done! I reccomend to let them sit for a day because the shell isn't crunchy enough and the inside is too chewy. You can decorate these however you want with edible things, of course.

Macklemore - Same Love

posted Mar 26, 2014, 6:59 PM by Unknown user   [ updated Mar 26, 2014, 7:05 PM ]

Same Love is a song by Macklemore that describes what people say about LGBTs. (Lesbain, Gay, Bisexual, Trans) I think that the lyrics are great because when Macklemore says "We become so numb to what we're saying", he means that people just abuse these people for what they are, and that they don't know what they are saying anymore. I personally am okay with LGBT, but others shouldn't abuse them for who they are and their relationship. Even if you don't like them, it's not nice to say that and people would feel upset for that. When Macklemore says, "A culture founded from oppression, yet we don't have
acceptance for 'em" he means that being gay is fine but peop-le aren't going to accept the fact that it's just them and others
who want to be gay. Saying you aren't allowed to be gay is like saying "No, your favourite colour isn't blue. It's green." If you
are allowed to pick your favourite colour, why aren't you allowed to be gay because others say so? I agree that it is pretty unatural, but it's completely fine for someone to be gay. This ends a super boring and quick ramble, but I hope you enjoyed this boring post.

Pokemon X and Y: Shiny Hunting Guide

posted Mar 19, 2014, 6:36 PM by Unknown user   [ updated Mar 23, 2014, 5:58 PM ]

Everyone loves shinies in Pokemon games because they are a pallet swap of their original design.. Just not that red Gyarados because I'm pretty sure at this point everyone has one and no one cares about that thing any more. Today I'm going to be showing you how to get shinies in Pokemon X and Y. There are 3 methods. Horde hunting, fish chaining, and PokeRadar chaining. The first method I'm going to show you is horde hunting.

Things needed for horde hunting:

  • A Pokemon that can learn Sweet Scent (etc. Combee, Mawile,)
  • A patch of grass that you can use Sweet Scent in
  • Some patience
The first thing you will need to do is go to your cave or grass patch and use Sweet Scent in. You should use a TM slave for this but you can use your team as well. When you use Sweet Scent, a horde will come up and you have to either knock them out or just run from them. This is pretty much all you need to do. Keep doing this until you can find your shiny. It will take a while but the result is rewarding. :)

The next type of shiny hunting is fishing. Shiny fishing is easy, but there is a limited number of species you can catch with this method. The items you need are:

  • Old Rod
  • Good Rod
  • Super Rod
  • Be able to access a body of water you can fish in
After you get your things, you can start. What you need to do is you have to get your fishing rod and then just cast it. Once you start your chain, you cannot move anywhere or you will break your chain. If you get "Nothing seems to be biting...", you have also broken the chain. A way to prevent this is to have a Pokemon with Suction Cups as it's ability at the front of your team. If you want to use a different Pokemon and still be able to have Suction Cups, faint your Inkay and put it in front of your party. When you start fishing, you have the option to either catch it, or knock it out. If you run from a battle, you would break your chain so that's why you can't run from a battle. It will take around a chain of 70 just to find a shiny and still might not be able to find the one you want. This is the easiest method so far.

The last method there is available is PokeRadar chaining. This is by far the hardest and you can easily break your chain.

  • PokeRadar (Can be gotten from Prof. Sycamore's lab on the second floor after you beat the game.)
  • Pokemon without Moonblast because this will break your chain for some reason. It's happened with a chain of 9 to me before. :/
  • Patience because. Just because.
  • A patch of wild grass
  • A whole TON of Super Repels. Don't get Max Repels because for only 50 more steps, it's way more expensive.

There are a couple of rules to PR chaining. 1. Do not go in a patch of shaking grass that is shaking normally or very softly because it will break your chain. 2. Do not go into a patch of grass that is less than 4 spaces away from you. 3. Do not go into a patch of grass that is on the border of the entire patch of grass. 4 Do not go into grass that are shaking next to each other. Doing all of this will result in breaking your chain because you will run into a different Pokemon 5. Do not equip your rollerskates or bicycle. Only use your feet. Now that you know that, let's get started. What you need to do is spray a Super Repel. After you've done this, activate the PokeRadar. Grass will begin to shake and it doesn't really matter. You will run into a wild Pokemon. You have the option to knock it out or catch it. If you run it will break your chain. After that, the grass will shake again. This is where you have to apply all the grass rules. If you don't follow the rules, you will run into a different Pokemon and break your chain. Basically, all you are doing is trying to get the same Pokemon again and again until you see a patch of shaking grass that sparkles. That means you have found a shiny. Congrats~ This is really hard and I personally haven't found one via this method yet but I've gotten shinies from trades and stuff. That's it for this tutorial. Thanks for sticking through the boring-ness and hope you had a great sleep from all this boring-ness.

(By the way I don't have my own pictures this week because I don't have any shiny pictures of mine and I'm lazy to upload any. I on;ly have a picture of a shiny Heatmor I randomly caught.)

Minecraft PE Hacking: Changing your skin!

posted Feb 25, 2014, 6:39 PM by Unknown user

Today, I'm going to be showing you how to change your skin in Minecraft PE. As you know, you can't change your skin yet, because this feature hasn't been implemented in 0.8.1 yet. But, you can now by replacing the character file. Let's get started on the project.

*THIS IS FOR IOS ONLY! DO NOT ATTEMPT ON ANDROID DEVICES.

What you will need:

  • A jailbroken iDevice
  • iFile (Download from Cydia with a repository like BiteYourApple because this app costs 4.99 regularly on Cydia.)
  • iDownloader (Can be downloaded for free on the App Store)
  • Your Minecraft PE skin (You can look around the 'net for skins, but I got mine from minecraftskins.net. I have a Herobrine skin for this one.)
  • Minecraft PE (Cracked free versions will work as well, but I don't reccomend you even have it.)
The first thing you need to do is if you don't have your skin yet, download your skin with iDownloader.

(the app with the arrow is iDownloader!)                                                              (This is my skin that I'm using.)

After you have your skin downloaded, go into iFile, and find iDownloader and go into documents for it. You will find your skin inside it. Mine is called herobrine.png. Copy the file and keep it for now.

Find minecraftpe.app and go inside it. Look in documents and look for char.png. Name char.png into char2png. Keep this for a backup, you don't want to be unable to switch back!

Now, paste your skin (in my case, herobrine.png) into the folder and rename the new skin into char.png.

Now, after you are done, go into Minecraft PE (If it is still inside multitasking, kill the app and then relaunch it.) To check if you did it correctly, go into a survival world and hit armor. You'll be able to see your character and the front.

Here you can see my new character skin. You can definitely tell that it worked because the eyes are like Herobrine's.

I hope you found this little hack useful, and that it was easy to remember. Thanks for reading!

*NOTE: The only person who can see your skin is you because this replaces every one's skin for you in multiplayer servers.

Superpowers

posted Feb 17, 2014, 2:01 PM by Unknown user

Superpowers are weird and I probably won't ever need them. But, if I use them for my own selfish reasons, such as make a ton of money appear out of nowhere, then heck yeah. As I said, I would use it for my selfish reasons, so I would use superpowers for things I want and stuff, such as expensive stuff like cute things and video game stuff. I would also use superpowers for moving stuff around because I'm lazy to do things such as getting stuff around me that I am too lazy to go get. Lastly, I would just use. superpowers for freezing stuff because icy things are pretty. You start thinking ice is pretty after you've watched Frozen. Yay.
